Enter India’s leading travel search marketplace, connecting over 80 million travelers with content & deals from over 25,000 online & offline travel & hospitality businesses. Guess who? ixigo.com of course! And with them marched a hoard of over 50 developers with dreams to be the next ixigem. Amidst the glorious burst of energy and exhilaration, the hackers started off with their 24-hour hack ritual. What was the energy like? Nothing can be better if the CXO’s of the company keep you motivated throughout the day. Kanchi Chawla, Aloke Bajpai and the ixigo tech team were present from dawn to dusk to inspire and motivate the hackers to create marvels at the hack.
This 24hr hack had three themes to choose from and develop an application. As soon as the themes were released, the brilliant brains got to work. It was a fun-filled weekend with lots of ‘innovafun’ involved! 😉 Great thinking involves some great food and an amazing atmosphere; our hack had it all. Delicious food and beverages kept the hackers charged throughout the day. All the hard work resulted in some brilliant ideas and 3 of them– OneMoreError, Invincible and Fantastic Brothers— were adjudged the winners. Let’s take a quick look at their innovative ideas.
- OneMoreError – Winners
Nikhil Kumar Tulseja and Ashish Goel worked on simplifying the sharing of travel plan with friends and family so that people can provide inputs related to their travel preferences in real time. This would help reduce the chaos they face while deciding which places to visit. Their idea fetched them a whopping INR 30k and the winner title.
- Invincible – Runners up
Harsh Sharma and Haimal Khetan created a trip Planner with the ixigo API’s. It was interesting to see how they also used Facebook sharing API to make their app all the more happening. INR 20K and shout outs for this incredible duo.
- Fantastic Brothers – Second Runners-up
The idea of their app was to provide an end-to-end support to the user with his trip planning. The user can start off by searching or choosing a place and then the app will inform them regarding most of the details about the city. When he/she loves it, they can instantly book a hotel and see available mediums of transport.
Amidst these great ideas, there was one more which was highly appreciated by everyone. Kung-Fu-Pandaz created a Trip Planner which lets you easily find travel route options with exhaustive details. This app has a special feature in which user can plan a trip to a destination without even opening the travel planner. They might not have won a award but they definitely won a lot of appreciation. Kudos to the team.
Haaah! Another great hack wrapped up the Venturesity way. Are you game for the next one?
