Praxify HealthHack 2015 – Integrating healthcare and technology

On 11th July, there was a special treat in store for the hackers who participated in our Praxify HealthHack. On the way to the venue, which was at the Praxify Office 6th Floor, Icon Tower, Pune, participants were treated to a beautiful sunrise. This set the tone for the rest of the weekend ahead.

Ferocious, relentless Puneites who don’t take no for an answer, streamed in. Akansha and Kushagra, members of our team, took care of the registrations. By noon, all registrations were completed. We had a total of 90 participants, and we are pleased to announce that this time around the female of the species was adequately represented.

We knew this was going to be a long weekend. So, to break the ice, and to enable the participants to get to know one another, we held a session in which participants to build the tallest structure they could build using dry spaghetti. (the food! And not what you were thinking 🙂  )
After the ice was broken, as it were, there was a friendly interactive session in which the co-founder of Praxify, Abhijith Gupta, introduced the company and the company culture.

Participants then were introduced to the problem statements related to healthcare. This time around, since Praxify was looking tohire people with a variety of skill sets, there was something for everyone:

Are you a visual designer? Good. They had just the problem for you.

From an analytics background? Yes, they had one.

A mobile app developer? Check.

Web developer.  Sure!

You name a skill set, they had a suitable problem. All in all, participants had around ten problems to choose from.

Once the problem statements were released, candidates got to work. Revved up by the obligatory red bull and pizza, the hackathonees ideated and hacked with great enthusiasm. Once again, Kushagara, our dynamic intern played the part of DJ, enthralling the participants with his music and dance skills.
