It’s been over a month since the 2012 Summer Olympics, a great coming together of every country to showcase their finest. But what makes up a winning team to perform consistently – population, funding, facilities, GDP, superior athletic genes etc. We believe it’s a — process driven approach to recruit and train athletes.
What Does it Take to Build FASTER, HIGHER and STRONGER?
China’s Project 119, an initiative that started in 2001 after it was awarded the Beijing Olympics is an example of a process driven system. You can see the results below. In twelve years – 1996 to 2008 – they doubled the medal count from 50 to 100.

It works and we have seen it within the Indian system as well – Gopichand’s academy [Parupalli Kashyap & Saina Nehwal] and Chaudary Devi Lal Sports Center [Sushil Kumar & Yogeshwar Dutt] are two good examples of process driven recruiting and training system to churn out champions.
It’s been about 2 months since we started Venturesity. Initially, we set out to “connect talent to awesome companies”. However, we’ve realized that the problem is not connection, it is lack of – startup ready- trained talent. To address this issue, we partnered with startup founders and the community to launch – Propeller, a structured training program- for the community, by the community. We recently launched our first course on “Big Data” in partnership with Hudki, a search platform.
